New book to read

I've added a new book to my "must-read list". It's called Words by Ginny Yttrup. I was introduced to it at the website She Reads; this is a website run by Proverbs 31 Ministries. If you love to read Christian fiction then go check out this site.

The main purpose of this post is to share a quote by the author mentioned above, Ginny Yttrup. I've not read the book yet, it's her debut novel. (I'm on the way to my library this morning to look for it!) Here's the quote that spoke to my heart this morning; perhaps it will mean something to you as well.

God takes our pain, when we offer it to Him, and weaves it together for His purpose. In His infinite love, He offers His healing and then allows us the honor of comforting others with the comfort we’ve received. Each time I’m blessed to participate in one of these conversations, my reluctance to engage the next time dissolves a bit more. For this, I’m learning is God’s redemptive work in my own life—the purpose He’s assigned to the pain I’ve suffered. It is the gift hidden within the suffering.

I Corinthians 1:4 "who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by Yahweh."

  1. My favorite book about suffering is Johnny Erickson Tada's book "When God Weeps". It shows different angles on suffering and why there is beauty in the middle of it.

  2. I'm very familiar with Johnny Erickson Tada's story but have never read that book. Thanks for the suggestion, Susan.
On a sidenote, as a direct result of replying on your "blogroll" post in the forum I've added two new followers to my blog; you being one of them! I'm now up to 3! Thanks, again.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I read each and every one of them!
